Joy van de Ligt

Joy is a passionate performer with a music degree, majoring in piano and voice, and as a musician traveled across North America playing piano on tour and performing for Pope John Paul II in Toronto. As an accomplished pianist, she has served as an accompanist for several shows in the Edmonton arts community, and as an experienced vocalist, has been involved with many productions and a few prominent events such as singing with Canadian country superstar Johnny Reid at the CCMA Awards and with The Edmonton Singing Christmas Tree.

She is a co-founder of One Voice Vocal Studio, a vocal science nerd, and performance mentor. Her passion for music, knowledge of the singer’s physiology, and attention to detail apply to all areas of vocal instruction including function, technique, breath, ear training, range, stage presence and performance skills.

In addition to her love of singing, she provides superior training on the piano with a focus on theory, sight-reading, and accompaniment. Joy is passionate about encouraging students to realize their potential and break through their self-imposed barriers to embrace their talents and creativity as artists.
